Gender-based violence (GBV) is a phenomenon deeply rooted in gender inequality and remains one of the most pervasive human rights violations across societies. Women and girls are disproportionately affected, with global statistics showing that 1 in 3 women experience such violence. Addressing GBV requires a community-based, multi-pronged approach and sustained engagement with multiple stakeholders.
- Advocacy on Rights
Our intervention focuses on educating the community about their rights and equipping them with the knowledge to navigate and combat gender-based violence within their communities. Through targeted advocacy, we empower individuals to recognize and assert their rights, fostering a culture of respect and equality.
- Economic Empowerment
Our research during the piloting phase revealed a strong link between economic vulnerability and the prevalence of gender-based violence within families. When economic resources are strained, the risk of violence increases. To address this, we equip the community with entrepreneurship and savings training. Additionally, through our partners, we provide funding for business startups and boosting, helping families achieve financial stability and reducing the risk of violence.
